Apple will hold a ‘big media event’ on October 4, according to All Things Digital. The Wall Street Journal blog reports that according to its sources, the event would be the scene for the launch of the iPhone 5.

Adobe Announces iOS 5 Newsstand support for Digital Publishing Suite

Adobe has announced that its Digital Publishing Suite, a set of tools for creating smartphone and tablet apps, will support the Newsstand feature in iOS 5.

Newsstand is an app which holds magazines for which the account holder has a subscription or has bought individually, and new issues are downloaded to the Newsstand automatically.

Apple has announced that Steve Jobs will give the Keynote speech at next week’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference and that he will announce iCloud — the company’s widely rumoured suite of online services.

Jobs will also ‘unveil’ Mac OS X Lion and iOS 5, according to Apple. The company didn’t confirm whether either operating system would be made available immediately, but has previously said that Lion would be available this summer.
