Apple and Nokia settle intellectual property dispute

Nokia and Apple have reached a settlement to end all patent litigation between the them, according to the Finnish company.

In a statement this morning, Nokia said that the agreement included the withdrawal of each company’s respective complaints to the US Federal Trade Commission and the payment by Apple of a one-time fee in addition to ongoing royalties.

Apple changes its mind on in-app content subscriptions

Apple has made a significant change to its in-app subscription rules just a week before the deadline for compliance.

The change allows app publishers to offer subscriptions to app content outside of the app at any price they choose, without having to offer the dame deal within the app.

Lodsys sues seven app developers over patent infringement claim

Lodsys has stepped up its battle with Apple and app developers over the alleged infringement of its intellectual property. The company filed suit against seven developers in the patent trolls’ favoured district, East Texas, explaining in a blog post that it had chosen ‘to move its litigation timing to an earlier date than originally planned, in response to Apple’s threat, in order to preserve its legal options.’
