This week's second round-up in a busy week for software releases and updates.

Apple G4 CD-RW firmware 1.1: CD-RW firmware update for QuickSilver Power Macs, also available via Software Update (possibly).

Apple iPod Updater 1.0.4: adds support for iPod names of up to 255 characters, adds

additional languages including Brazilian/Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish and addresses compatibility and performance issues which users may have experienced with version 1.0.3.

Painter 7: provides enhancements in three main areas including Wacom tablet support in Mac OS X, new tinting brushes and water colour tutorials.

Sonnet PCI cards OS X support: allows Macs with Sonnet PCI card upgrades to run OS X.

Opera 5 Classic: final version - for OS 7.5.3 to 9.2.x - of the compact but fast Web browser. OS X version is still in beta.

Iconfactory: new OS X icon set including icons for the new iMac and the iPod.
