ChronoSync enables the syncing and backup of data on your Mac, with any other device that you can mount on your desktop, be it another Mac, an external drive, server or PC. Most notable among version 4.0’s new features is the ability to create fully bootable, complete backup copies of a hard drive. Econ has also released a separate utility that grants ChronoSync, and ChronoSync only, full root access to a destination Mac. Primarily it is designed for situations with custom or complex permissions settings, explained Joe Japes, marketing director.
“ChronoAgent is not needed by everyone. Most users can simply activate file sharing on another Mac, mount, and then sync. But if you are having permission problems with your destination Mac or server then ChronoAgent can solve that. If you need to match Users and Groups between two different Macs then ChronoAgent can solve that.”
ChronoSync costs $40, with a free demo version available. Registered users of previous versions can upgrade for free. ChronoAgent for Mac is a separate $10 purchase.
