Apple fixes iLife for Tiger
6:57AM, Tuesday 11th November 2008
Apple has released an update for iLife ’08 running on Tiger, which addresses a trio of security vulnerabilities.
The vulnerabilities occur in iLife applications’ handling of TIFF images and JPEG images with colour profiles, where viewing a maliciously crafted image could cause application termination or arbitrary code execution.
The update ensures proper memory initialization, improved processing and additional validation of TIFFs as well as improved processing of ICC colour profiles in JPEGs.
iLife Support 8.3.1 is available via Software Update or from apple.com/support/downloads. For more information see About the security content of iLife Support 8.3.1.
