iWork on iPhone 7:18PM, Monday 9th June 2008
Apple is adding support for viewing iWork and Office documents on the iPhone and iPod touch.

Steve Jobs said that the new features will be available when iPhone 2.0 software is released in early July, free to iPhone users and $9.95 for the iPod.

The upgrade also delivers contact search and support for Japanese and Chinese languages with character recognition.

"It's one of the great advantages of not having plastic keys for your keyboard," said Jobs.

Jobs has also given more information about the new iTunes App Store, where the new iPhone and iPod touch applications will be sold - or given away.

Apps under 10MB can be downloaded wirelessly and updates can also come down over mobile or Wi-Fi connections. Otherwise they'll sync through iTunes along with all the other content.
