Rumour: New iPod shuffles on the way 10:47AM, Friday 16th March 2007
It seems Apple Store employees in the US are starting to sport new second generation iPod shuffles in colours unavailable to the general public.

US-based designer Josh Spear was visiting an Apple Store earlier this week when he 'spotted a creative wearing a purple Shuffle'. Spear tried to ask him about it, but he 'didn't want to talk much about it'.

Spear insists on his blog that it wasn't a cover, and that the colour was much darker than the regular magenta shuffle already on sale.

MacUser says: It's highly likely there are other shuffle colours than the five currently in general circulation. Whether this purple shuffle will ever be made available to the general public or is an internal promotional item is as yet unclear. However, the current colour palette in use throughout the line is limited, so a refresh, involving new tones, wouldn't be at all unlikely.
