Although it’s barely been mentioned, Apple announced a smaller iPad this week. You can pre-order the iPad mini from today, although unless you got up at 8am to be one of the first to do so, you’re likely to be looking at a less than prompt arrival: as with the iPhone 5, the first batch is expected to run out pretty quickly. The first deliveries will be in a week’s time, on 2 November, when you’ll also be able to find units in your local Apple Store – if you’re quick.
Not even we can test a machine that isn’t here yet – although our correspondent did get a quick try after the launch event, and liked what he saw. Instead, in MacUser Vol 28 No 22, on sale now, you’ll find our full review of the products Apple announced just a few weeks ago, and have barely arrived in the UK: the revamped iPod touch and nano.
