by Kenny Hemphill on November 7, 2013

Apple has issued updates for a problem with the recently-launched 13in MacBook Pro which caused the keyboard and trackpad on some models to stop working. Apple said the update ‘addresses an issue where the built-in keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad may become unresponsive.’

The fix, in the form of an EFI firmware update is available on the Mac App Store.

Another, update, this time for Mail for Mavericks, fixes problems some Gmail users had encountered with Mail in Mavericks. Apple said that the update ‘Fixes an issue that prevents deleting, moving, and archiving messages for users with custom Gmail settings.’

In addition, the update fixes a problem with inaccurate unread message counts and ‘Includes additional fixes that improve the compatibility and stability of Mail.’

You can read more about the update, including Apple’s detailed instructions on backing up your Mac and then installing the update, here.
