Adobe releases Photoshop Lightroom 5 public beta

by Kenny Hemphill on April 15, 2013

Adobe has made the latest version of Photoshop Lightroom available as a public beta.

Lightroom 5 includes an improved healing brush; Upright, a single-click image straightening tool; and Radial Gradiant, which Adobe said ‘lets you create off-center vignette effects, or multiple vignette areas within a single image.’

There’s also a new Smart Previews option which allows you to work offline with a preview of an image and then have the alterations and metadata edits applied to the full-size version later. A video slideshow tool makes it possible to ‘combine still images, video clips, and music in creative HD videos that can be viewed on almost any computer or device.’

And improved features for creating photo books allow you to edit templates to create a customised book.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 public beta is available now.
