Apple announces event for September 12

by Kenny Hemphill on September 4, 2012

Apple sent out invitations today for a special event taking place on September 12. That date has been widely predicted to be the day the iPhone 5 is announced, and the invitation hints at just that, with the 12 in the date casting a shadow which turns into a 5.

Apple normally announces new iPods in September or October, and it’s likely to do that on 12 September too. Less likely is a smaller iPad. Recent reports have suggested that the iPad mini, as it is likely to be called, will be announced in October.

The new iPhone is likely to support LTE 4G, have a bigger screen, a smaller Dock connector and a nano SIM.
