Apple will launch the next version of the iPad at a special even in San Francisco in the first week of March, according to All Things Digital.

The Wall Street Journal blog said that its sources claimed that the new iPad will feature a faster processor, better graphics, and a higher resolution screen, probably 2048 x 1536 pixels.

Apple unveiled the iPad 2 on Wednesday 2 March 2011 at the Yerba Beuna Arts Center in the city. It’s believed that the event to announce the new iPad will be held at the same location. If Apple sticks to a Wednesday for the event, it will be held on 7 March.

Photographs of what is claimed to be the inside and outside of the back panel of the new iPad have recently surfaced on a number of websites.
