Last week the Wall Street Journal’s All Things Digital blog reported that Apple would hold an event in New York to announce an initiative relating to the publishing of text books on its iBooks store. It also reported that there would be a tie in with iTunes University.

In February last year, the Guggenheim was the venue of a joint announcement from Apple and News Corp. to launch The Daily iPad app and Apple’s subscription service on the App Store.
