Apple has updated the iOS version of GarageBand and made it available to iPhone and iPod touch users.
The app works in the same way on the iPhone and iPod touch as it does in the iPad, though there are changes to the interface to accommodate the smaller screen size. Contextual menus have been added views of guitars and keyboards have been cropped more tightly.
New features include support for 3/4 and 6/8 time signatures, and support for custom chords in Smart Instruments. Smart Keyboard has an arpeggiator and Touch instruments have adjustable velocity settings.
There are additional options for quantisation, and more settings for exporting to AAC and AIFF.
GarageBand costs £2.99 and needs an iPhone 3GS or later, iPod touch third generation or later, or an iPad.
