Adobe has released new versions of its two Elements applications, Photoshop and Premiere. Among the new features in Photoshop Elements 10 is Guided Edits which allow inexperienced users to easily alter the depth of field in a photograph, design a layout of snapshots, or add a diffused glow, according to Adobe.
‘Celebrating a 10-year history as well as a landmark 10th release, Photoshop Elements 10 is a showcase for innovation and expands the incredible things our customers can do with their photos,’ said Winston Hendrickson, vice president of Digital Imaging Products, Adobe. ‘The new intelligent feature set and automated functionality in Photoshop Elements allow photo enthusiasts to elevate everyday photos from good to great.’
New text features allow users to make text follow the outline of a subject, path, or custom shape. The Smart Brush allows effects to be painted onto areas of a photo and has 30 new effects in version 10, including Pencil Sketch and Oil Pastel.
New organisation features identify objects within photographs and highlight photos which are very similar to each other.
Premiere Elements now has colour correction tools, pan and zoom for still images, face detection, and InstantMovie themes. IT can also export movies in AVCHD former and upload directly to YouTube and Facebook.
Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 are available individually for £79 or as a bundle for £119.
