Aquafadas launches publishing tools for tablet and smartphone apps

by Kenny Hemphill on July 29, 2011

Aquafadas has announced the availability of its long-awaited digital publishing tools for iOS apps.

The suite consists of four components; a plug-in for In Design which allows interactive content to be created in that application; MyKiosk, a tool for testing interactive content; AVE AppFactory, an application which generates iOS apps without coding; and AVEpublishing, a web portal which allows publishers to view and analyse data for their apps.

All the tools are free to download and there is no per app download fee or revenue sharing. Instead, publishers buy an app certificate and publication licence when they are ready to publish. Both are one-off, lifetime payments. Prices start at €100 for an app certificate and €280 for a publication licence. Aquafadas says that ‘publishers can accurately calculate cost of digital publishing at any time.’

The tools require InDesign CS 5 or CS 5.5 for Mac OS X. The company says that a beta of the Windows version will be available soon, along with support for Android.
