Adobe updates Photoshop Express with Camera Pack in-app purchase

Adobe has released version 2 of its iOS application, Photoshop Express. The new version features an in-app purchase option called Camera Pack.

Camera Pack has three features; Reduce Noise, Self Timer, and Auto Review. The sensor on the iPhone is notoriously prone to noise and the Reduce Noise feature is designed to combat that by smoothing images.

The self-timer can be set to three- or ten-second intervals to allow the photographer to get into shot or reduce camera shake. And Auto Review allows you to ‘make sure you get a good shot and delete it if you don’t,’ according to Adobe.

Version 2 also has a new workflow to allow you to take photos more quickly from within the app.

The main Photoshop Express app works in conjunction with Photoshop.com, Adobe’s web-based photo editing, sharing and storage tool. The app uses the iPhone and iPad’s multi-touch interface to allow you to crop and straighten images, as well as adjust their colour, apply filters, and add effects.

In a post on the Photoshop.com blog, Adobe’s senior product manager for Photoshop web and mobile, Jordan L. Davis, said ‘The core camera, editing, and sharing features in Photoshop Express continue to be available in the free app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. However, we are introducing paid features that deliver professional results to give more value to our customers.’
