Apple has confirmed that alarms on iOS devices set for the first two days of the year failed to go off.
While recurring alarms worked as expected, one-time alerts remained silent.
“We’re aware of an issue related to non repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2,” said Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison. “Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3.”
It is the second time in less than three months that iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users have suffered a bug in the iOS alarm settings. At the end of October, thousands were late for work and appointments after alarms failed to adjust for the end of daylight saving time.
