The Beatles albums have arrived on iTunes, following Apple’s promise of a day “you’ll never forget.” Speculation was rife about what Apple would announce, but the smart money was on the long-awaited debut of the mop tops on the iTunes store.
And the albums duly appeared around half an hour before the scheduled announcement.

Prices are at the top end of the iTunes scale, 99p per track and £10.99 for a complete album, but they do come in the iTunes LP format, with extended “sleevenotes” and other bonus content.
The Beatles released 13 studio albums between 1963 and 1970 and are recognised, with Elvis Presley, as the biggest selling artists of all-time. All 13 LPs are available on iTunes, together with a collection of early recordings and two “greatest hits” compilations.
Ringo Starr said he was relieved.
“I am particularly glad to no longer be asked when the Beatles are coming to iTunes,” said the band’s drummer.
