Apple configures Mac Pro Server

by Simon Aughton on November 8, 2010

Apple has added a Server configuration to its range of Mac Pro desktops, following the announcement that it is to discontinue the Xserve.

The Mac Pro Server runs on a 2.8GHz quad-core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processor, with 8GB of RAM and two 1TB hard drives and includes Mac OS X Server 10.6 with an unlimited-client licence, all for £2,399 (incl. VAT).

Apple will discontinue Xserve at the end of January, offering the new Mac Pro Server or the Mac mini Server as an alternative, if not a replacement.
