Temporary fix for iPhone alarms

by Simon Aughton on November 4, 2010

Apple has provided a temporary remedy for the bug with the iPhone alarm clock and promised to fix the problem in the next iOS update.

In a support note, the company explains that, “shortly before or after the daylight saving time (DST) change, repeating alarms created in the Clock app may work incorrectly.”

UK and European users discovered precisely that when their alarms went off an hour late on Monday.

Apple says that to prevent this, set the repeat interval to Never, adding that you will need to reset these alarms for each day you need them.

In a statement the company said that the bug will be fixed in the iOS 4.2 update later this month.
