Apple releases ProKit, Aperture updates

by Simon Aughton on October 21, 2010

Apple has released a wide-ranging update to Aperture, its professional photo management software.

ProKit 6.0 fixes issues with user interface software that is shared by Apple’s professional applications, including reliability when browsing iPhoto libraries in Aperture and a problem in Logic Pro and MainStage where numeric parameters display incorrect information.

Aperture 3.1 provides more than 80 fixes including performance and reliabilty improvements, and multiplt fixes for bugs in adjustment settings, Faces and Places, printing, books, slideshows and web sharing. It also addresses a number of issues with metadata, search, import and export — in fact just about every aspect of the application.

Both updates are available vis Software Update, but Aperture 3.1 will only appear once ProKit has been installed.
