Apple releases MobileMe Calendar, Logic updates

by Simon Aughton on October 15, 2010

Apple has taken the new version of MobileMe calendar out of beta, but users can choose whether to upgrade.

The new version sports a refurbished interface and several new features, including calendar sharing and invitations.

Sharing allows you to authorise other to create and edit events, providing email notifications to tell you when a change is made. You can also share read-only calendars.

Notifications work much like they do in iCal on the desktop — add invitees’ email addresses and they will be notified; their RSVPs will automatically be recorded in Calendar.

The new MobileMe Calendar can only sync with Macs running Snow Leopard and iOS devices running the latest software version: 4.1 on iPhone or iPod touch and 3.2 on iPad.

Apple has also released update for Logic Studio and Logic Express which provide stability and compatibility improvements for 6- and 12-core Mac Pros, Audio Unit plug-ind, 64-bit REX files and iOS control surface apps that utilise the OSC protocol.
