Adobe brings Premiere video to the Mac [updated]

by Simon Aughton on September 21, 2010

Adobe has announced that Premiere Elements, its consumer video editing software, is available for the first time on the Mac.

Premiere Elements 9 is designed to make it easier than ever to upload and import video into the new Organiser interface, shared with Photoshop Elements 9.

Users can fix audio problems, automatically trim away bad footage, stabilise shaky shots, and correct bad colour and lighting. Once users select the footage they want — in SD or HD — movies can be created instantly or enhanced with just a few clicks and with drag-and-drop effects, like the Cartoon Effect, which turns any video into an animated feature.

The Organiser allows users to tag and view photos and videos in one central place, upload to Facebook and YouTube and combine media in interactive Online Albums. Users can quickly find the best videos with the Auto-Analyzer that automatically tags what it deems to be the most interesting, highest quality video footage.

Adobe Premiere Elements 9 is is available now at for a suggested retail price of £77. The software is also available in a £117 bundle with Photoshop Elements 9.

UPDATE: The Plus service is only available in the US.
