Adobe warns of critical Flash vulnerability

by Simon Aughton on September 15, 2010

Adobe has warned web users of a critical security vulnerability in its Flash Player software.

Affecting multiple platforms with the obvious exception of iOS devices, the flaw could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. Adobe has already received reports of the vulnerability being exploited on Windows.

The company said it expects to release a fix during the week of 27 September 2010. In the meantime, Safari users can install the ClicktoFlash plugin.

No wonder Apple have decided to drop Flash.
