Supermarket selling iPod shuffle for £20

by Simon Aughton on August 12, 2010

UK supermarket chain Morrisons is slashing the price of iPods ahead the expected introduction of new models next month.

Morrisons’ branches with in-store “techno bars” will be selling the 4GB iPod shuffle for £20, a third of the standard price, while an iPod nano can be picked up for £60.

Apple generally refreshes the iPod line-up in September in time for the holiday shopping season. This year the rumours point to at least one camera for the iPod touch — a second, front-facing camera would enable support for the FaceTime video calling introduced on the iPhone 4

Apple chief executive Steve Jobs gave a strong hint that video calling would be coming to the iPod when he said during the FaceTime introduction in June that Apple expects to see the technology on tens of millions of devices this year alone.

The iPod touch may also get the iPhone’s high-resolution Retina display.
