Softpress has unveiled a new version of its code-free web design apps, Freeway Pro and Freeway Express, featuring a new image gallery and slideshow tools, site search and HTML email generation.
Both Freeway Pro and Express 5.5 sport the new Showcase, a collection of fully-customisable options — including borders, shadows and reflections — for building galleries and slideshows. Images, including native Photoshop files, can be imported from anywhere on the Mac including directly from iPhoto and Aperture libraries.
Both versions also offer HTML email generation, converting layouts into “email-friendly” HTML that can be opened in Mail, or dropped into a sending service such as MailChimp or Vertical Response.
Freeway Pro users get Relative Page Layout to create web pages with complex CSS layouts that dynamically respond when content on the page changes in size or is added or removed. Pro also provides a new client-side search tool that added to any site, including those hosted on MobileMe.
Other new features available in both Pro and Express search engine sitemaps and built-in Amazon affiliation, support for SFTP and FTPS uploads in addition to FTP, MobileMe and straightforward file copying, and new templates.
“With several groundbreaking new features, it’s now even easier to create modern, leading-edge websites, email newsletters and presentations in Freeway,” said Softpress managing director Richard Logan. “Both professional and novice web designers will benefit from the innovative and improved tools for the creation of rich, dynamic and standards-compliant pages.”
