Apple has acknowledged that it is investigating Phone 3G users’ complaints following the release of iOS 4.
Users have reported that the software adversely affects both performance and battery life, while causing the phone to become too hot.
In some cases 3G users have resorted to the complex process of reverting to iOS 3.
By contrast iPhone 3GS users have generally been very happy with the upgrade, particularly with an apparent lengthening of battery life.
Apple told the Wall Street Journal Digits blog that it is aware of the reports and looking into the matter.
iOS 4, a free update available through iTunes, adds multitasking, app folders and support for iBooks, among dozens of new features.
