iPhone 4 arrives at T-Mobile and 3

by Simon Aughton on July 29, 2010

T-Mobile and 3 have confirmed that they will begin selling the iPhone 4 from Friday, 30 July.

The launch will put the iPhone on five UK networks and coincides with the release of the handset in 17 additional countries.

Three claims to have the UK’s biggest 3G network and it certainly has highly competitive price plans for the Apple handset. Two-year contracts start at £30 plus £99 for a 16GB iPhone 4 or £189 for the 32GB model, with 500 minutes to non-3 phones per month. At the top of the scale, £45 per month will get you a free 16GB iPhone, with 2,000 minutes; add £89 for a 32GB handset. All plans include 1GB of data, 5,000 texts and 5,000 “Three-to-Three” minutes. SIM-only plans are also available, including PAYG.

T-Mobile’s price plans differ little from those offered by O2, Orange and Vodafone. At the bottom end of the scale, £25 over 24 months plus £259 will get you a 16GB iPhone, 100 minutes, 100 texts and 500MB of data. Hand over £60 each month, and you’ll get a free 16GB phone, with unlimited minutes, 500 texts and 1GB of data.

PC Pro has an online spreadsheet detailing all the UK providers’ price plans (sadly, not compatible with mobile Safari).
