Broadband Choices and Simplifydigital were deemed to have met the requirements of a rigorous independent audit that assessed whether sufficient processes are in place to ensure that information provided to consumers is accessible, accurate, transparent, comprehensive and up to date.
Accredited schemes are also required to provide information in a format that is easy to use and understand, and, where they provide their services online, to also provide their services on the telephone or in writing.
"Clear and accurate price information on communications services is fundamental to consumer choice," said Ed Richards, Ofcom chief executive. "The Price Accreditation kitemark will assure consumers that the price comparison calculator they are using is up to date and reliable".
Simplifydigital's and Broadband Choices' accreditations are for fixed line, mobile, broadband and digital television services price calculators and lasts for one year, after which they will be reviewed.
