CandyBar puts new spots on Leopard 9:47AM, Wednesday 28th November 2007
If, like many others, you're unhappy with Leopards new folder icons then Panic may have the answer.

The developer has released a new version of its CandyBar system-wide icon replacement utility - and thrown in its iPhoto-style icons management tool, Pixadex.

CandyBar lets you easily and safely customise the default Leopard system icons for the trash, drives, and folders on an individual basis

or across the whole system using iContainers from the Iconfactory and other icon websites.

Certain iContainers also include new-look Docks, but CandyBar also lets users even customise the Dock by dragging and dropping new images from the Finder.

Other new features include 512×512 icon support, Quick Look support and improved smart collections of icons.

CandyBar 3 costs $29 from panic.com/candybar, where a free trial is available. Discount upgrade pricing is available for registered users of both CandyBar 2 and Pixadex 2, and users who purchased either on or after 1 October 2007 qualify for a free upgrade.

One free icon set, Float, is included.
