Tiny Mac app lets you wake up to podcasts 8:12AM, Wednesday 28th February 2007
If your local station is getting you down, then Awaken could be a better choice of morning entertainment. At heart, it's an alarm clock for your Mac, that will wake you up to iTunes or podcasts of your choice.

Alarms can be set to repeat automatically on a daily or weekly basis, and one-time alarm features will alert you at a specific time and date in the future. It will also - optionally - slowly fade in both the music and the brightness of your screen for a more gentle awakening. Files can also be attached to alarm events, making it possible to execute an application or script at a pre-determined time.

There's also the now commonplace sleep timer that will allow you to fall asleep to any entry in your iTunes library or podcast download list. Support for the Apple Remote lets you control your music any time it's playing.

Awaken is a Universal Binary that requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later and iTunes 6 or later. It costs $8.95, and can be downloaded here, along with a free trial.
